[What the role is]
Student Development Executive (SDE) plays a vital role in the growth and development of learners within an educational institution. He/she is responsible for planning, developing and delivering a variety of student development activities in NYP. SDE looks after the governance of student organisations as well as the development of our learners holistically via co-curricular activities (CCA), including advising its leaders and mentoring learners through various activities/programs/events throughout the year.

[What you will be working on]

  • Design, implement and organize sports-related activities/programmes/events for NYP student athletes and general student population. This would include both indoor and outdoor activities/programmes/events. He/she will be required to guide student leaders to ensure proposals are properly written, learning outcomes are identified and met, and proper guidance when executing the event.
  • Oversee the management of sports modules. Creating sports curriculum content, assessment plan and to deliver the respective sports modules to our learners. He/she will also be required to be at the module lesson venue to supervise and ensure that the instructors are delivering the lesson according to the lesson plan and lessons are being conducted in a safe environment.
  • Supervise and mentor student leaders in sports CCAs. This includes monitoring the coaches, reviewing training plans to ensure that students are receiving proper coaching to excel in their CCAs and to ensure that training venues are safe for coaches to conduct trainings.
  • Liaise with affiliated parties and external stakeholders (SportSG, NSAs etc), to ensure that any changes to the rules and regulations of the sport is made known to our learners. Required to work with national sports associations when hosting any POL-ITE or IVP sports.
  • Manage Sports facilities which includes managing bookings, ensuring the facilities are properly maintained and safe for our learners to utilized, and to follow up with repairs to damage facilities.
  • Perform general administrative duties and related procurement functions for the department.

  • Experience in delivering sports modules/programmes, managing sports related events and overseeing sports facilities.
  • A keen passion for sports and willing to oversee student activities after office hours and weekends.
  • With good track record and an active participation for the relevant activities.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle several sports activities/programs concurrently.
  • Good leadership qualities and communication skills, able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner applicable to the job.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ( Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc )
